Our client is currently seeking an experienced Category Buyer to join their manufacturing/production team. The Category Buyer will be responsible for developing and implementing sourcing strategies for a variety of categories, ensuring cost efficiency, quality, and delivery performance. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in procurement and sourcing, with a good understanding of manufacturing or production environments.
- Develop and implement sourcing strategies for a range of categories, including raw materials, packaging, and components.
- Conduct market analysis and identify potential suppliers to ensure cost efficiency and quality.
- Negotiate pricing, terms, and contracts with suppliers to achieve optimal results for the organization.
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders to identify procurement needs and provide expert advice on purchasing best practices.
- Manage supplier relationships and ensure timely delivery of goods and services.
- Monitor supplier performance and implement corrective actions where necessary.
- Keep up to date with industry trends, regulations, and technology advancements to identify opportunities for improvement.
- Bachelor’s degree in business, supply chain management, or related field.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in procurement, sourcing, or supply chain management, preferably in a manufacturing or production environment.
- Strong negotiation skills and the ability to manage contracts effectively.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills.
- Strong analytical and project management skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and procurement software.
