Job Title: Senior Buyer – Birmingham (Hybrid Role)

Role Overview: As the Senior Buyer, you will play a crucial role in managing the procurement process, sourcing, negotiating, and purchasing goods and services to support the company’s operations. You will be responsible for developing and implementing procurement strategies, optimizing costs, and ensuring a smooth supply chain flow to meet the organization’s objectives.

Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand business needs and develop procurement strategies aligned with company goals.
  • Identify, evaluate, and onboard suppliers, ensuring they meet quality, cost, and delivery requirements.
  • Conduct negotiations and contract management to secure favorable terms and conditions for the company.
  • Monitor market trends, pricing, and availability of materials and services to identify opportunities for cost savings and process improvements.
  • Maintain strong relationships with existing suppliers and continuously evaluate their performance.
  • Manage and resolve supplier-related issues, ensuring continuity of supply and minimizing disruptions.
  • Drive sustainability and ethical sourcing initiatives, promoting the company’s commitment to social and environmental responsibility.
  • Analyze and report on procurement metrics, presenting data-driven insights to relevant stakeholders.
  • Stay up-to-date with industry best practices and emerging trends in procurement to foster continuous improvement.

Requirements:

  • Proven experience as a Senior Buyer or in a similar procurement role.
  • Solid understanding of procurement processes, contract management, and supplier relationship management.
  • Demonstrated ability to negotiate and secure advantageous terms with suppliers.
  • Strong analytical skills and proficiency in data-driven decision-making.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships internally and externally.
  • Knowledge of sustainable and ethical sourcing practices is a plus.
  • Proficiency in using procurement software and tools.
