Whether it’s sketching initial concept ideas, creating scale clay models, developing the next generation of exterior, interior and CMF design or using CGI wizardry to produce stunning images and video, our small, diverse team are constantly shaping the future of the automotive industry. Housed in state-of-the-art facilities, our world class Design team create, quite simply, the most beautiful automotive art in the world.

As Senior CMF Designer, you will support the Head of CMF and the rest of the Design Team by researching macro + micro design trends, explore cutting-edge technologies and translate these findings into pioneering CMF solutions, that will enrich our future range of high-performance cars and embody the true spirit of ultra-luxury.

Key Responsibilities and Duties

  • Passionate, positive and creative CMF Designer. An ambassador for company design and our CMF philosophy across the design department and beyond.
  • A motivated, organised and highly creative team player with great taste and a great level of understanding of luxury automotive colour and materials design, with excellent creative instincts and the ability to communicate them effectively.
  • Great ability to create visual representations of CMF / material applications / deco and patterns using graphic programmes from the Adobe Suite (Photoshop and Illustrator). VRED or grasshopper would be advantageous.
  • Proficient level of expertise in the creation of the specific documentation required for material developments (supplier briefs / feedback etc.)
  • Delivering inspiring results within a given timeline and to cost targets set by their manager, with a clear understanding of the impacts of design decisions on the project.
  • The ability to break down and tailor complex design information to present appropriately, clearly, and concisely to different audiences within the design department
  • Understanding and contributing to decisions throughout the product development process, with the support of their manager.
  • Cognizant of current & future trends of both luxury and performance within and beyond the automotive industry.
  • Collaborate with partners and suppliers to deliver world class materials, with potential for international travel to visit suppliers / inspect samples and production processes if necessary.
  • Positive, proactive and respectful team player, contributing to the team spirit and working environment, supporting other team members when required.

Relationships

Key internal relationships include the Head of CMF and the rest of the design team. External relationships will include external suppliers, agencies collaborating on company projects as well as projects with Schools/colleges/universities. Press relationships can also be included in case of specific events / press releases.

Experience and Qualifications

  • Bachelor or master’s degree in Textile Design, Fashion Design, Transportation Interior Design, Product Design, Industrial Design or similar design related discipline is essential.
  • No previous automotive experience required.
  • Creative thinking and materials research.
  • Great ability to use the Microsoft Office Package, PowerPoint.
  • Great ability to use Adobe Photoshop and Adobe Illustrator. VRED or grasshopper would be advantageous.
  • English language to a professional working level.
  • Requirement to have accurate colour recognition to best support Colour and Materials developments.
