Senior Colour & Material Designer

Main Tasks:
  • Create and deliver complete design proposals according to design brief and project constraints in assigned programs.
  • Produce creative and detailed design solutions fulfilling complex technical criteria.
  • Develop concepts, which are translated into practical solutions in cooperation with external suppliers.
  • Prepare presentation material for reviews as well participate in design reviews.
  • Attend in project and engineering meetings.
  • Represent colour & material in project related forums.
  • Work closely with Project Leader, 3D designers, C&M Specialists, Studio Engineers and modelling team/trim shop.
  • Collaborate and maintain good relationship with other stakeholders i.e. product planning and marketing teams.
  • Drives innovation and product material development with automotive supply base.
  • Generate 2D and 3D proposals and physical samples.
  • Design and develop sustainable and responsible colour and materials content from Concept through Job1 and beyond.
  • Prepare documentation, presentations and prototypes to program timing.
  • Create vehicle line material strategies for future implementation.
  • Ability to adjust to changing design, feasibility and cost requirements.
The Person:
  • University degree within Design and/or Fine Arts.
  • Substantial experience from automotive/transportation design.
  • Proven track record from other OEM’s is an advantage.
  • Deep knowledge about colour & material development.
  • Understanding of complete car development process.
  • Strong communicator with excellent presentation skills.
  • Skilled in Adobe Creative Suite with ability to visualise and communicate ideas effectively in 2D and 3D.
  • Experience in VRED, strong digital rendering skills is a plus.
  • Additional experience in video editing software is an advantage.
  • Deliver more sustainable and responsible material initiatives and methods of make is key to the role.
  • Strong drive, independent and confident as well as a good team worker.
  • Structured, methodical and analytical with good planning skills.
  • Flexible and able to work under constrained time schedules and frequently revised circumstances.
  • Established network of contacts in the industry.
