I am recruiting on behalf of a well-established engineering firm that is recognised for its expertise in precision machining and manufacturing. This company specialises in producing high-spec CNC components, including UPVC and aluminium window tooling, bespoke OEM machinery, and subcontract parts. With a strong industry reputation and a commitment to quality, they provide an excellent working environment for skilled engineers.
The Role:
As CNC Setter Operator, you will be responsible for preparing and operating CNC milling machines, ensuring all production runs are completed efficiently and to exacting standards. You will work closely with the production team to monitor machine performance, troubleshoot any issues, and contribute to process improvements.
Key Responsibilities:
- Set up CNC milling machines, ensuring correct tooling and settings for each job.
- Operate multiple CNC machines, maintaining efficiency and precision in production runs.
- Monitor and fine-tune machine settings to optimise performance and quality.
- Troubleshoot production issues to minimise downtime and improve processes.
- Conduct first-off inspections to confirm accuracy and adherence to specifications.
- Liaise with engineers and production teams to ensure smooth workflow.
- Follow strict quality and safety standards (ISO9001:2015 & ISO45001:2018).
- Keep work areas organised and maintain equipment to ensure a safe and efficient environment.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives within the manufacturing team.
What We’re Looking For:
- Proven CNC Setting & Operating Experience: Ability to set up and run CNC milling machines efficiently.
- Technical Expertise: Strong knowledge of machining processes, tooling selection, and material properties.
- Engineering Drawing Interpretation: Confident in reading and working from complex technical specifications.
- Manufacturing Experience: At least 5 years’ experience in a precision engineering or production setting.
- Problem-Solving Ability: A proactive approach to troubleshooting and optimizing machining processes.
- Team Player with Strong Communication Skills: Comfortable working in a collaborative environment.
- First Aid Certification is a plus but not essential.
