Job Description
The role will be responsible for the following:
  • To identify and implement improvements to process robustness, cycle times, and manufacturing costs
  • To communicate at all levels of the business and ensure transparency of workloads
  • Leads and drives engineering continuous improvement activities in line with the agreed direction and business needs
  • Ensures continuous engineering support in the promotion of safe working practices and good housekeeping disciplines. Ensure high standards of health & safety are maintained
  • As required offer and maintain Engineering support on current & new project developments, as agreed with Engineering Manager
  • Drive and instigate new ideas and upgrades to existing plant
  • To keep good documentation on improvements, costs, project status and engineering activity
  • Promote the Company’s aims, goals and requirements towards achieving and maintaining the required standards set by ISO certification
  • Promote and train engineering standards across the engineering function on site
  • Provide correct level of engineering support in the review and update of all FMEAs Process Flows, Control Plans, Work Instructions, and other documents
Qualifications and Key Requirements

The ideal candidate will be apprenticeship grounded who has furthered their education. A minimum of 3 years’ experience within an engineering manufacturing environment is required. The successful candidate will also be confident in one or more of the following:

  • Mechanical assembly drawings,
  • Hydraulic / Pneumatic circuit drawings,
  • Electrical drawings
  • Plant installations – Power, Air, Water, Heating, etc
  • Geometric Tolerancing – general understanding
Hands on experience in the some of the following:
  • MIG/MAG Welding (Steel and/or Aluminium)
  • Mechanics/Fabrication
  • Installation of plant (Mechanical or Electrical)
  • Jigs and Fixtures design
  • Skills that would be beneficial
  • AutoCAD 2D or 3D
  • Basic manual machining (drilling, milling and turning)
  • PLC logic – understanding
