We require an experienced Buyer to work closely with our engineers to source and procure external and internally manufactured components and parts. To deliver on quality, and cost whilst keeping in line with approved requests, business plans and predicted stock levels.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Place purchase orders for drawn & non-drawn components in line with requirements generated both via the internal MRP system and manual requirements generated via supervisors.
  • Negotiate terms and conditions, in line with the company business operating procedures ensuring the best total acquisition costs.
  • Continuous monitoring of suppliers to ensure cost, quality and delivery adherence.
  •  Using company’s vendor rating system as a tool for measuring delivery and quality.
  • Ensure adherence to all relevant ISO9001 procedures.
  • To play an active role in achieving departmental objectives such as cost reduction targets year on year, supplier reduction and improved stock management.
  • Extensive experience within a batch prototype or production environment.
  • Understanding of both manufacturing and manufacturing techniques.
  • A good working knowledge of prototype & small batch manufacturing procedures.

    Position available: Development Technician

    The role entails building and testing products designed by the company’s Engineering team. This will include building battery modules and packs, high voltage control systems and other electromechanical products as well as testing prototypes during the development process and customer products upon final assembly.     Skills Required:

    • Experience in building and assembling sensitive mechanical systems. This may be directly through building batteries or electronic systems or through experience of building other systems requiring a high attention to detail such as engines, medical equipment etc.
    • Knowledge of prototype build techniques and systems including:
      • Dummy build prior to production
      • Measurement
      • Understanding of build forces such as torque settings, assembly forces and

    -Experience using build tools such as hydraulic press, measurement gauges.

    • Cooling systems
    • General experience of power and hand
    • Ability to devise and assemble simple test rigs, jigs or other equipment required to aid with the build of a product or support the design and build of more complex rigs.

            • Experience of using TCUA (Team Centre) & PLM preferable
